Dishtv is not in a financial crunch as ZEEL which have debts and on priority wants to pay back given the current situation. Dishtv had made profits in recent time and also taken over D2h and thats why Airtel is in exploratory talks to sell the business to Dishtv..

Airtel can only fight with Jio on land with Internet on fiber, not from Sky (dish) with Trai Tariff. No future for DTH in coming years without Internet.

I think merger with dish TV will be a good idea. The future looks bleak for dth and cable, so the merger could help dish TV as well. And the airtel dth can easily shift to fiber, as they do have the potential
