Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has announced via Reference Interconnect Offer (RIO) that their Bhojpuri entertainment channel, Zee Ganga will be rebranded to Zee Anmol Cinema 2 on 26th April 2024. A promo of the same was also seen on the Zee Ganga channel and across all other platforms.
ZEEL registered Zee Anmol Cinema 2 trademark in December 2023 and this rebrand marks the end of Zee Ganga from Bhojpuri entertainment category which was launched on 20th September 2021 by replacing Big Ganga. Zee Ganga is the last Bhojpuri entertainment channel. Other Bhojpuri channels including Zee Biskope are movie channels.
After Big Ganga rebranded to Zee Ganga, Zee’s Free-to-air Hindi entertainment channel Big Magic is the only channel that continues to hold the Big brand. The Zee network’s Zee Ganga needs a crucial rebranding because it has been struggling lately. The broadcaster is taking a further step in its goal of expanding in the Hindi market by launching Zee Anmol Cinema 2 in this rapidly growing industry.
Zee Anmol Cinema 2 will be a Hindi movie channel and a sister channel to other Zee’s Hindi movie channels. The satellite transmission of Zee Anmol Cinema 2 is yet to start which is very much understood as the official date of launching the channel is 26th April 2024. Zee Anmol Cinema 2 will be a Free-to-air channel and available on DD Free Dish on LCN 73.
After the launch of Zee Anmol Cinema 2, ZEEL will have a total of 6 SD and 3 HD Hindi movie channels in the bucket, the same count as Disney Star’s Hindi movie channels. Both Sony Pictures Networks — officially known as Culver Max Entertainment and Viacom18 hold only 1 HD and 3 SD Hindi movie channels.
