Zee Media Corporation Limited (ZMCL) has launched a Hindi news channel “Zee Bharat” and also unveiled its new graphics on 22nd January 2024 at noon during the live broadcasting of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony held at Ayodhya. Zee Bharat was launched by replacing the Zee Hindustan feed and consumers were notified about the launch of the new channel in September 2023 with a tag “Coming Soon” at the upper portion of the Zee Bharat logo. The testing of Zee Bharat’s logo was also started in that month only and this testing was 4 months long.
Originally introduced as Zee News Uttar Pradesh
Zee Bharat was initially launched as Zee News Uttar Pradesh in 2010 and aired news content mostly related to local happenings in Uttar Pradesh. Then in 2014, Zee News Uttar Pradesh was rebranded to Zee Sangam and it became a Hindi news channel that showed 40% of news from Uttar Pradesh, and the rest came from across the country, including regional stories.
Zee Sangam only lasted for a year and was rebranded again as India 24×7 in 2015. India 24×7 at that time offered a complete range of hybrid content that spans from news to entertainment, it aimed to empower viewers to make informed choices instead of just receiving news.
In 2017, India 24×7 again rebranded to Zee Hindustan. The word “Hindustan” was written in Hindi. Rather than only covering news from the National Capital or metropolitan cities, Zee Hindustan’s main objective was to cover news from all parts of India.
New Graphics and Logo of Zee Bharat
The logo of Zee Bharat carries a mix of both purple and red colours with the word “Bharat” written inside a pill shape in both Hindi and English. The alphabet A in English and र (R) in Hindi in the word “Bharat” is orange in colour, leaving the other alphabets in white, which is peculiar and creative.
The new graphics of Zee Bharat contain very bright colours. The primary colours are blue, green, and purple. The main element present in the graphics is a Peacock and its feathers all around which is observed as a brand symbol of the newly launched channel. The Ident reel of Zee Bharat represents the feathers of a flying peacock forming a spark of colours behind which Zee Bharat emerges. During news coverage, we can see feathers of Peacock flying everywhere in the background. The graphics used by other news channels are not as unique as those of Zee Bharat.
After the mega revamp of all Zee channels on 15th October 2017, Zee Business is the only news channel offered by Zee Media Corporation Limited (ZMCL) that is untouched in terms of logo and graphics and has not even been revamped once till now which seems to be weird and offbeat considering the current scenario where TV channels gets revamped once in every 5 years or maximum 6 years.
