12 MSOs and 1 HITS operator as of 31st December 2021 with a subscriber base greater than one million, as per TRAI’s Yearly Telecom Services Performance Indicator Report for the year 2021 released last week.
GTPL Hathway is the largest MSO in the country with a 7,906,424 subscriber base. Siti Networks stood second with a 7,443,265 subscriber base. Hathway Digital stood third with a 5,480,327 subscriber base. DEN Networks came fourth with a 4,600,430 subscriber base.
Thamizhaga Cable TV Communication stood fifth with a 3,864,781 subscriber base. Kerala Communicators Cable stood sixth with a 3,010,793 subscriber base. Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation stood seventh with a 2,746,828 subscriber base. NXT Digital (HITS) stood eighth with a 2,245,427 subscriber base.
KAL Cables stood ninth with a 2,098,600 subscriber base. Fastway Transmissions stood tenth with a 2,074,462 subscriber base. VK Digital Network came eleventh with a 1,913,630 subscriber base. NXT Digital (Cable TV) stood twelfth with a 1,254,212 subscriber base. Asianet Digital Network stood thirteenth with a 1,174,814 subscriber base.
The total active subscriber base of the above major MSOs/HITS operators at the end of 31st December 2021 includes subscribers who have been inactive or temporarily suspended for not more than the last 90 days.
