The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on Monday revealed that it was currently sitting upon 25 TV license applications that have been pending with it for over a month. The Ministry also received the lowest applications for new permissions in the past 6 quarters according to the performance statistics provided by it.
The Ministry at the end of Q2 FY 21 was sitting upon on 25 TV licenses, up from 19 TV licenses pending for more than a month at the end of Q1 FY 21.
The number of TV licenses pending with other Ministries at the end of Q2 FY 21 for more than a month stood at 36, down from 40 at the end of Q1 FY 21.
The Ministry also received the lowest number of new applications for permissions of TV license in the last 18 months. Q2 FY 21 only saw 4 new applications permissions of TV license, down from 6 which were received in Q1 FY 21.
