While Tata Sky and Sun Direct were first to make popular channels available at lower prices with broadcasters’ festive offer, Airtel Digital TV, Dish TV and D2h are not far behind in reducing the prices.
Airtel and D2h updated the new offer prices on 18 October while Dish TV has updated the same on 19 October. With implemented festive prices customers will now get popular channels such as SET, Sab, Star Plus, Colors, Zee TV at Rs 12 instead of normal price for Rs 19 per month.
What are Broadcaster Festive Offers?
Star, Zee, Viacom18 and Sony Pictures Network have decided to reduce prices of their 16, 6, 2, and 3 channels respectively to encourage their viewers to stay glued to Television Screens. However they have only reduced prices of Standard Definition (SD) channels not HD ones which could be because SD channels receive higher Advertisement Revenue.
Viacom18 has reduced MRP of COLORS and COLORS Kannada from the present price of ₹19 to ₹12 per month each. Sony Pictures Network has also reduced the cost of SET, Sony SAB and Sony MAX from ₹19 to ₹12 per month.
Zee Entertainment is offering 6 Channels – Zee TV, Zee Marathi, Zee Bangla, Zee Telugu, Zee Kannada & Zee Sarthak at ₹ 12 instead of the original price of ₹ 19 per month.
Star is providing Star Plus, Maa TV, Star Jalsa and Asianet at ₹12 instead of ₹19. Prices of National Geographic, Star Sports 3, Vijay Super, Nat Geo Tamil and Nat Geo Telugu have been reduced from ₹2 to ₹1 per month. While Nat Geo Wild and Star Sports First will be available at a nominal charge of ₹ 0.10 instead of ₹ 1.
Star has also reduced the price of Vijay from ₹17 to ₹12, Asianet Movies from ₹15 to ₹12, Star Sports 1 Marathi from ₹13 to ₹8, Star Sports 2 from ₹6 to ₹5 and Hungama TV from ₹6 to ₹1.
