Direct to Home (DTH) operator Dish TV’s accessory Dish SMRT Kit now supports Alexa in both Hindi and English. Dish SMRT Kit users can now converse with Alexa in Hindi as well with the Dish SMRT Kit getting support for Hindi language.
Dish TV in a tweet yesterday highlighted the addition of support for Hindi language in Alexa on Dish SMRT Kit. Dish SMRT Kit users simply need to tell Alexa to change her language to Hindi. The break came courtesy of our community forum member Somnath Chakrabothy who noticed the Dish TV tweet. The new Alexa feature will be useful for those who would prefer to converse with Alexa in Hindi.
To recall, Dish SMRT Kit which was launched back in October 2019 along with Dish SMRT Hub only had support for English in Alexa at the time of launch. The voice enabled kit with a dongle and remote powered by Amazon Alexa is available at a price of Rs 1199 and can be used to access Alexa skills and OTT apps such as SonyLIV, Watcho, Docubay, Zee5 and Eros Now on existing set-top boxes. The Dish SMRT Kit however is only compatible with Dish NXT HD boxes. Dish TV users can drop a missed call on 1800 568 3000 to book Dish SMRT Kit.
Dish SMRT Kit users can set alarms, timer and reminders, control their set-top box with voice, listen to their favourite music, control their smart home devices, and listen to latest news and weather updates.
