Well the report says paramount exited from the deal by earning a profit margin so we have proof of that and it is a fact, now what you are saying about VH1 and CC, it will be great if u can back it up with some sort of report, bcoz it is all speculation and assumptions till now
Ya because viacom18 also has colors and other non paramount channels.

paramount the then Viacom invested around 50 million$ for 50% stake in viacom18 and over that a couple of million dollars in content acquisition . The paramount exited India with 517million $ , which is profit due to growing valuation of the company not profit from niche channels.

Its no speculations , but facts that non of the niche channels are in profit. No company will publish saying channels are in loss. They carefully use words saying diverse content offering

So as per u all niche channels in India are in loss , no matter how much they are loved by viewers and what company says ?

not as per me, but its reality . not all channels, times network are sustaining . AXN was also an exception .
until and unless your offering are as per global offering you can break even . Zee and viacom subscribe content india specific .

I think mtv and nick will stay because they are still profitable in comparison to music channels.
"Profit", was never the criterion for shutting down of channels, as it is quite evident from this bunch of shutdown

Besides
i) MTV is now quite repetitive, I don't see much shows in MTV India
ii) Almost the Same with Nickelodeon....Since last few years, original Nickelodeon shows are not being telecasted, instead, all I see is "Motu patlu" and few other shows, repetedly..

But motu patlu is having a good fanbase and mtv shows get good sponsorships despite their repetitive content so they can easily run these channels.
But for music channels you have to pay music companies.

They do get good sponsorships, advertisements and all but still, this does not decide wheather the channel will be kept or not...

Both of these channels were part of Paramount Global, which recently exitted viacom 18...Now the entire load of the channels are on JIOSTAR themselves, if they're able to make up with these channels, they'll keep them, else shut them down...

A good example of this is comedy central....

Enter Elon Musk, he buys Jiostar... and now we have new rebranding

Muska Chaska - GEC
Musk Music
Musk Cineplex
Musk Sports Tamil
Musk sports Hindi
Musk Romance
Musk Thrills etc etc etc.... :blush2::biggrin:
A better one would be:

Tesla Chaska
Tesla Music
Tesla Sports tamil
Tesla Cineplex and so on....

But comedy Central lost rights of friends and other shows I think that's why they closed the channel
