Until now Dish TV was providing some starter FTA pack comprising DD Free Dish Channels and charged nominal annual or 3 year amount for accessing them from subscribers. After the TRAI rule will Dish TV be allowed to do that? TRAI rule states that subscribers have to pay Network Capacity Fee of Rs.130+tax to operators for minimum 100 FTA channels , if Dish TV provides majority of these channels from Free Dish and nkt use its own bandwidth for it then subscribers can raise an objection with TRAI over this. Post that either Free Dish Channels will be given in addition to 100 FTA channels quota or part of NCF will be shared with DD Free Dish depending on subscribers opting for these channels or Dish TV will have to stop Free Dish access and add these channels on its platform

Btw any improvement in picture quality after they started transmission from their own tp?

Don't know about PQ but AQ will effect... DDFD AQ is best compare to Dishtv

In some channels mainly DD channels PQ is best in DDFD

no those channel are not showing epg and trai new ruls say all channel epg provide to viwers so dish tv manage those channel epg only ..ddfd also testing epg last week .

What bad bro? After 1st Feb anyway we are going to pay for these channels so why accept big ugly dd free dish logo or weird LCN number?

Subscribers r still paying for it, Dish TV is charging some amount in FTA pack and giving these channels for which they incur zero cost.

Your are just as wrong in understanding TRAI rules as those who r saying that currently we r getting FTA channels (not all) for just Rs. 99 and now TRAI is making us pay Rs. 150 + forcing 100 FTA channels onto us. Reality is that in current system one has to pay Rs. 99 for FTA pack and one add on pack subscription is mandatory so total cost comes to around Rs. 130 or upwards, in this too operators like Tata Sky do not give all FTA channels. Under new TRAI rules, u can chose all FTA channels of ur choice or add pay channels and pay accordingly. Also charging Rs. 150 NCF is not compulsory, operators r free to charge any amount below this but slab of 100 channels has to be maintained. Now many good channels like 9XM, Mastiii, NDTV, ABP can be accessed at lowest cost whereas previously operators used to give it in mid tier base packs.

Lastly i am sure in coming months TRAI will further create smaller slabs like 50 channels for our convenience & NCF will be reduced accordingly. Already even in pay segment broadcasters r reducing bouquet charges, Times Group reduced its HD and SD bouquet from Rs. 49/36 to Rs. 20/13 respectively and yesterday Zee decreased price of Family pack by 6 Rs. Had Tata Sky not appealed against 15% bouquet discount cap then even a-la-carte rates would have been minuscule. Anyways all in all we will be freed from useless channels or duplicate payment for SD/HD feed of same channel and for limited channels with quality content we should pay affordable fees rather than always wanting everything for free

Star sports first and star ustav movies are removed from dishtv and zee anomal cinema dd free dish logo removed

Star Utsav Movies has been out of Top 5 Rural Movie Channels for 2 consecutive weeks. Dish and Free Dish have great chunk of subscribers from small towns or rural segments or those belonging to lower middle/poor class and removal of any channel from these will reduce TRP of respective channels by a good margin. Guess Star Utsav Movies beared this brunt
