Well complete merger will obviously take time, so many things need to be aligned but as Deep bro has stated that step by step integration has started and will continue for year or more. Well for dish d2h subscribers this should not be a concern as u will get good results of this within next few weeks.

After airtel-dish d2h merger surely 3 different satellites won't be used for transmission. Think Dish will use airtel satellite to broadcast service to cater ROI while d2h will keep its focus on southern india thus competing with MSO / Sun Direct. I think as soon as airtel finalises combined Indiacast deal then dish tv will start rolling out new channels and request customers for realignment to get access to them. Also hoping that after latest software update new transponders will be added

DTH operations of Airtel, Dish TV may merge soon

Bharti Airtel, promoters of Dish TV and private equity firm Warburg Pincus have agreed to merge direct-to-home operations of Airtel and Dish after months of negotiations, a move that will create the world’s largest TV distribution company, two people with direct knowledge of the development said.

The three parties are agreed on deal structure, wherein the DTH business of Dish TV India will be hived off and merged in Bharti Telemedia, which houses Airtel Digital TV , they said.

Airtel is a Cheater Company. I hope DishTV doesn't cheat their existing long term Mera Apna Pack customer by discontinuing this plan.
