Freinds, I have a question I'm having an Active Airtel DTH connection but I want to take new Airtel FTA box. So if a purchase a new FTA box with 3 years pack then I have to keep my existing HD box in inactive mode for next 3 years.

So my question is Do airtel executive call me to return my existing STB, dish antenna, remote, HDMI cable and all the accessories as I will stop using old stb and starts using new FTA box ?

Is it necessary to return all the equipment to airtel ? and what if a inactive customer refuses to return it, because I need a dish antenna to watch new FTA box.

Please reply to my question

Thanks

These 3 year boxes are launched for some pin codes (where DD Free Dish users are more) but some sellers are selling them across India by activating them before delivery and this is causing loss to Airtel as users do not have to pay any NCF in this. So maybe Airtel has discontinued these 3 year FTA box model.

Now this box is not available on most of the online websites like Amazon, Flipkart etc. And the price has also declined on Indiamart means the validity has also come down. Looks like Airtel has discontinued this box....

Good..that old box has the worst picture quality..my doubt is 3years fta pack available with new box or not? Or it was just a temporary offer to clear stocks of old box

Offline dealers are having it.

Yes Airtel executive will call you after months followed by Warning message.

My ADTV set top box is inactive since February (2024) , in May June I started getting SMS & Call.

After 2-3 times I recalled their number & didn't pick again.

Box is still inactive & with me.

Then How Companies are selling STB only in new connections ?

They Say Take STB only Use any companies dish antenna just do the realignment and use our product and on the other hand they call for surrender the inactive stb and dish antenna.

I think only dealers and distributors can answer this question whether it's compulsory to surrender the inactive dish stb or not.

If at time of buying a DTH connection u opt for rental option where STB as well as other equipments r provided at subsidised rates to customers then when u later decide to not recharge the account for more than 90 days at a stretch then as per terms and conditions signed by customer in Subscriber Acquisition Form , the company can ask for u to return STB + Equipments .... If u got just STB and got it installed on some other company Old Dish then STB company will not ask to return back the Dish equipment if same belongs to another company...... However having said that generally companies do not take back STB or ODU equipments, they call just so as to somehow request them to reactivate/recharge their account

If u bought new connection under Outright purchase option wherein pricing is more than double as compared to new bought under Rental option then u own the equipment + STB and company cannot ask u for returning them
