the reason i teased him is because he told there was no news from India..

Like every other news channels, Republic Channel is also a regular news channel. The channel has just started. So it want big news to make a name in people's mind.
Every NEW news channel or news paper will start only like this. With some of their exclusive breakings..
That will make a name for them.

From Day 1, Saturday morning 10:00am if it telecast regular news, will somebody talk about the channel..?
Don't go for somebody, will we talk about the channel here.. It's the marketing strategy.

When Wion (Zee network) launched there was no sensational story. Perhaps that channel does not want to cover any sensational breaking news but only international news but still.

All the other channels including Republic (also recently News18TN) require some big bang when they launch. Otherwise nobody will bother. Even today very few people know about Wion due to very limited brand recognition.
