BAG network Ltd, which owns Hindi news channel News24 and entertainment news channel E24, is ready to launch spiritual channel Darshan24 on 28 September, 2011.
A 24-hour free-to-air channel, Darshan24, will be available on cable platforms in pan India level. However, as per company officials, for presence of the channel in various digital platforms talks are on with DTH operators.
Speaking to exchange4media, RK Arora, CEO Broadcasting, BAG Newsline Network, said, “The content of Darshan24 will be dedicated to all the religions. In India, there is no any religious channel for all the religions, and Darshan24 is an effort to fill that vacuum.”
The content of the channel will include morning aarti, bhajans, and live feeds from various religious places. Besides, channel is also planning to produce documentaries on various religious places and events. Distribution of Darshan24 is being done through the various platforms being used by News24 and E24 channels. Meanwhile, an in-house agency of BAG networks has created the entire look and feel of the channel.
Arora noted that group is targeting all relevant advertisers for the channel. “We are trying to reach out to the advertisers who are already associated with us,” he said. Channel will also broadcast government and PSU based advertisements.
Going further, in next three months, group is planning to launch Darshan24 in various international markets also. For the promotion of the channel, BAG is investing money on various platforms that include Print, TV, Digital and OOH. It has also come out with a dedicated website for the channel – www.darshan24.com.
exchange4media’s readers can recall that recently BAG network had completely revamped its existing channels including News24 and E24. And it is expected that Darshan24 can give a fierce competition to already existing spiritual channels of the domain that include Aastha, Zee Jagran, Sanskar among others.
