Hi everyone

I have Dish TV dish antenna and LNB setup in my house. Now I want to use this setup to watch FTA channels using Free Dish. I think I only need an FTA STB for this. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If I only need an FTA STB, please suggest me in buying it. My requirements are:

1. I want a future proof STB. I mean compatible to MPEG-4, etc formats. Also I want an STB which can be used to hunt for channels on different satellites in future.

2. I want high quality STB. Budget can go upto 10K.

3. It should be available on Internet for home delivery.

4. Are there STB which support recording similar to tata SKY+ or ADTV+? Is it possible to record Free Dish programs on STB?

Please help me in buying a good STB for Free Dish.

Thank you.

You can buy any solid brand mpeg4 dvbs2 stb, it's good a not costly too, you can buy from online too,
About recording it supports recording, but no inbuilt hard disk in it, you can record anything on pen drive or external hard disk.

DD FD plans to Encrypt signals of all upcoming MPEG4 channels.

So, any MPEG4 STB cant decode them, you needed DD approved STB.

Is there any STB with built-in hard disk for recording? Also any specific model which you would like to recommend? :)

Oh. Is it possible that the existing MPEG4 STB will work in Free Dish when they encrypt signals?

I haven't seen any fta stb with inbuil hard disk, may be availble but sorry bro I don't know about it,
Also it will be costly if inbuilt hard disk is there.
