IMHO, Safari TV is the best malayalam channel. can't even compare the quality of Safari's content and production with that of the above listed "popular" GECs. its a channel showing really good quality infotainment content throughout, that too without any commercial ads.
Asianet is the best according to the TRP. But can't agree with it. They're airing repeated contents on day times with just one movie per day. While, other channels like Surya Tv, Zee Keralam and MM Tv are providing more original contents. Also, the quality of the Malayalam Serials by Asianet is so bad even though those are remakes from other Star GECs. Malayalam TV industry had a really good history with TV serials; there were some brilliant storytellers with talented actors back in the 2000s. Compared to that Amrita Tv and Surya Tv are still trying to come up with good shows than this normal mother in law and daughter in law conflict or missing mom/daughter cases.
Most of the people doesn't know that Asianet ratings include the repeat airing and when we look into that, Asianet is not worth the money that we are paying for. Same case with Flowers tv. 60% of content are repeated in Flowers Tv also. Zee Keralam, MM Tv and Amrita do this repeat trend with movies, but it's still bearable because those are movies.
