Absolutely right. They are playing with emotions . People who are unable to bare the cost of private dth and only depend on free dish start to view the channels and make the channels popular in trp list. But suddenly they withdraw their channels from the platfrom and the programmes suddenly become unavailable for those people. So I also thing this game needs to stop. The issue with private dth 1st time was ok. But why the issues come again and again.

Everyone has freedom to take part in the auctions. It's not like DD has asked Southern broadcasters to not bid. It's the broadcasters who are not taking part in this auctions.

Or they could just bring some sort of long lock-in periods. That you can't leave free dish for next one year. Or if you leave the platform. Channel is barred from taking auctions for the next one year.

Reason is people like private players in South. At some places Sun TV is considered cable TV. Just like how toothpaste to referred to as Colgate. Before NTO cable TV was affordable. Basic channels could be accessed foe under ₹100.
