English movie channels Sony Pix and Sony Le Plex HD will premiere 2015 American biographical drama film ‘Steve Jobs’ on 29 January at 1 pm and 9 pm.

Zee Studio, Zee Studio HD to premiere ‘The BFG’ on 26 Jan

As part of their ‘Platinum Premiere’ initiative for Republic Day, English movie channels Zee Studio and Zee Studio HD will air ‘The BFG’ for the first time on Indian television at 1 pm and then again at 9 pm.

Directed by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg, ‘The BFG’ stars Mark Rylance, Ruby Barnhill, Penelope Wilton, Jemaine Clement, Rebecca Hall, Rafe Spall and Bill Hader. The fantasy adventure is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. In the movie, a 10-year-old orphan girl Sophie befriends a benevolent giant, named the ‘Big Friendly Giant’, who takes her to the Giant Country, where they attempt to stop the man-eating giants that are invading the human world.

To grab maximum eyeballs for the premiere, the channel is introducing a ‘Watch & Win’ contest on 26 January for its fans. The viewers will have to answer few simple questions asked during the premiere at 1 pm & 9 pm by sending a tweet to @Zee Studio using #BFGonZStudio. The lucky ones will stand a chance to win Crossword vouchers and Zee Studio merchandise.

MUMBAI: Hindi movie channel Zee Cinema is all set to tickle viewers’ funny bones with the comedy of major errors in this Arshad Warsi and Jackky Bhagnani starrer ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ on 29 January at 12 noon.

Directed by Ashish R Mohan, the film also stars Lauren Gottilieb in a lead role. ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’ revolves around two crazy friends, Shami (Arshad Warsi) and Kedar (Jackie Bhagnani).

While Shami is a court-martialed naval officer, Kedar is a quintessential Gujarati boy who perpetually dreams of visiting America but has been denied the visa on multiple occasions. On a drunk night, Shammi suggests that he and Kedar leave for America on a cruise. Even though they laugh it off in that instance, in a freak accident by the sea, Kedar and Shammi who are supposed to manage a wedding baraat on a cruise, leave without the baraatis only to lose their direction and land up in Karachi. What entails is a series of stupid events as they enter forbidden territories of Taliban.
