Earlier cid was also heavy, and even episodes had good story
If u see 1998-2000 episodes they were somewhat realistic, 2001-2008 had good story and screenplay with thrills, 2009-2013 had good suspense and Thrills (maybe not story), 2014-2016 one time watch boring episodes, too much comedy, stretched sequences in episodes by to make it 45-49 mins runtime specially in 2016, 2017 - 2018 Decent episodes with no cid vibe and the end............
Not gonna forget the worst cgi/vfx in 2014/2015 episodes
Airing 3 days in week was still better from 2012-2013 rather than again doing the same thing from 2014-2015 (till Dec 2015).

(Offtopic)- But, they should atleast finish the "CID vs The Eye" series first before the end.
