MUMBAI: Pushing the boundaries of action
and entertainment, Colors is back with a
new season of its action reality show
‘Khatron Ke Khiladi: Darr Ka Blockbuster
Returns’. The channel has gone edgier this
season by increasing the number of stunts
and making it more difficult for contestants.
Produced by Endemol India Pvt Ltd and shot
in Cape Town, South Africa, the show will hit
airwaves on 7 February, at 9 pm, on
Saturday and Sunday. The channel has
roped in Karbonn Mobile as the presenting
sponsor.

The show will see action director Rohit
Shetty back on the small screen as he
challenges 14 celebrities. Shetty has
created over 60 dangerous stunts to keep
the contestants on their toes all the time.
Endemol India Pvt Ltd MD Deepak Dhar
added, “We have doubled the dose of
danger, action and entertainment this
season while introducing new concepts and
themes to make the show a truly engaging
watch.”

Adding to the rush of adrenalin, the
contestants will be required to live 24×7 in
a ‘Darr Ka Ghar’ created especially to raise
the show’s entertainment quotient. This
season gives a unique twist to the format
with the inclusion of a theme every week.
These themes include ‘Insomnia Week’,
where the contestants are deprived of sleep
the night before the stunt; a ‘Bollywood
Theme’, where the stunts are inspired by
popular Bollywood films; and a ‘Horror
Week’, which will give the contestants a
real taste of thrill with stunts set up in
scary locations.

Colors programming head Manisha Sharma
said, “After a successful season last year,
‘Khatron Ke Khiladi: Darr Ka Blockbuster
Returns’ is back with unique elements
enhancing the entertainment level this
season. Fear will permeate every aspect of
the show, right from the stunts to the house
where the contestants are staying. Rohit
Shetty, the architect behind these
fascinating stunts, has also taken on a more
mature role this time. His role goes beyond
anchoring, into being a disciplinarian
keeping contestants in check while also
provoking and prodding them to face their
fears.”

Shetty said, “It feels fabulous to be back
this season. There is a lot beyond the
physical capabilities that the contestants
will be tested on. This year I have ensured
that contestants can shed all their anxieties,
fears and panic for which I have also worked
closely with the creative team. Every week
has been an unexpected and surprising
journey for the contestants and the viewers
are in for a complete joyride.”

The contestants this season are Bollywood
actors Ashish Chaudhary, Sagarika Ghatge,
Nathalia Kaur, telly stars Rashmi Desai,
Hussain Kuwajerwala, Harshad Arora, Iqbal
Khan, Asha Negi, Riddhi Dogra, actor Sana
Khan, singer Meiyang Chаng, Kabaddi star
Rakesh Kumar, reality show star Siddharth
Bharadwaj and TV anchor Archana Vijaya.
Adding a twist to the tale and urging the
contestants to push their boundaries will be
last year’s finalist Salman Yusuff Khan, who
will be seen taking the role of a challenger.
