d2h remote problems

There're some problems with the old d2h remote while changing channels.For instance if I want to go to channel number 405 from channel 201 I press 405 ,but the numbers 4,0 & 5 have to be pressed extremely quick or else they disappear very quickly in say 1 sec.Any remedy to this problem.
