Channel was not off air without notice, rather fastway removed it without notice so its unprofessional behavior from fastway.

Regarding the hd version, the even tested in hd. So when they launched it maybe one of their licenses got delayed by Govt who knows?

They are in 16;9 because they are downscaling their hd feed to sd, like travelxp sd and epic sd.

Star, Ten, Sony, Neo and D Sports

When ESPN was previously in a JV with Star, it was never a separate brand, same now, they share the same broadcasting rights with Sony (FA Cup, La Liga, Serie A, UFC, IPL are on both channels), that won't happen between Sony and Ten.

What I want is a good sports channel because theee are essentially only 2 decent companies(star and sony) so competition is needed to make the market productive. See what the telecom market is now because of competition.

So a new channel from a big brand mjst be welcomed instead of hated.

On the distribution front I am not understanding how dth negotiate with broadcasters as Dsport was added the very fisrt day on dishtv and is missing on tata sky and airtel digital tv while star sports select HD 2 landed after many months today on dishtv while it was added on first day on tata sky and airtel digital tv. .

Do u understand the difference between a joint venture and an acquisition- if you would have you wouldn't have asked such a stupid question.

What Sony and ESPN will do, bidding for a some broadcasting rights etc, they will do it together, that's why there is "Sony" in the names of both the channels.
Just like Maruti - Suzuki is a JV, they both operate one brand and entity in India, u will never see Suzuki launching one their Japanese car in India all by their own.

Ten will continue to operate under different management but remain owned by SPN.

That's how the corporate world works.

You are obviously comparing D Sports with Jio, but Jio has grabbed the imagination of the entire population by expanding its service like crazy has D Sports done anything close to that, u tell me.

Tata Sky has the angle of their parent company running the biggest sports network in India, so they dont want to support them obviously. According to DSport Star will not hesitate to use muscle power to stifle competition so that they can promote kabaddi and kho kho

According to DSports Airtel isn't holding out because of Star. With Airtel, it is sheer apathy as it is like a Govt organization.

There is no reason except apathy as most of these platforms think that sports starts and ends with Cricket
