As given in the Ad, Dish TV mobile application can only be downloaded on phones running on ANDROID PLATFORM

i think as android is now a top software of mobile phones thats why they have given first in it.tata sky had too do this same thing now one by one they have updated application for all.

Android OS is gaining popularity, but has its own drawback, its not entirely bug free, and is easily prone to viruses and trojans...

Yes it is but symbian and other OS too not free of viruses.
