Whatever may be the reason, Disney is not at all interested in India Business Unit. Star unnecessarily increased the price of IPL rights and now they are no where. Free IPL on JIO Cinema made their situation more worsen. Disney is not at all interested in high investment with low profit. Let wait and watch.. Hoping for some good news.

Those who have taken BCCI rights, have become bankrupt due to huge loss. First it is Nimbus, then Star, next will be Viacom.

They are stucked with high priced ICC rights too, now it's Sony's court now for the amount of ICC TV rights transferred to Zee or Sony-Zee combine before 31-Dec.

Is seriously STAR thinking to sell indian tv business? If we look on the entire year tv ratings 5 out of TOP 10 channels of Star Network are toping in the charts. Maa, Plus, Pravah, SS 1 Hindi & Vijay are rocking in charts. Then why star is thinking of sale out & wind up from Indian Market?

High priced cricket rights are not making profits to any company, but Jio/RIL can absorb with their telecom revenues/tariff hikes ;)

STAR's owner Disney wants sell due to falling revenues/profits. BARC rank will not get profits/revenues.

Nothing like that going to happen.it is a heavily price sensitive market.ad rates are also saturated, people will not pay subscription fees.

Its old habit of Disney to first buy and destroy the complete network but Star seems to be lucky to get rid from Mickey Mouse owning company really quick.
