Nothing is shutting down both brand will co exisit. Only HSM will see few shutdown of channels. Some channels will now be dedicated to other entertainment

2 mainstream GEC under one roof doesn't work well in long term. Even in Hindi its a tougher task to maintain. But HSM is large, so chances to survive with bottom ranking(like & TV). When it comes to regional languages I think co existing may not be fruitful. Only Kannada market makes a question mark to choose one. Rest of all they can go ahead with Star branded channels. And if Paramount exit completey from RIL venture then the confusions will end.

I think sports is not difficult. Star Sports is popular and established. Sports 18 is just launched and even its name not sounds well. So keeping Star Sports brand is desirable. Only sad thing is killing one in its infant stage.
I think Nick and Disney channels can co exist to some extent as both takes contents from different libraries.

Its not only a problem with Star. They prefers to sell all linear TV assets including ABC. In the last 2 years Disney's all business recorded loss & declines concurrently. Movies are failing continuously, streaming not growing as expected, parks revenue not meeting expectations, TV revenue stunded. So they are in a hurry to reduce this hardship. There by quick and bold decisions came.

Also the previous 3 parents went defunct technically
And this time, for the first time Star going to be an Indian owned company.

Star plus with saas bahu soaps and Color’s with urban centric and reality shows can co exist like Zee tv and SET.

If Jio Cinema is amalgamated to Hotstar then Hotstar regain their dominancy larger than earlier. IPL, ISL, BCCI, HBO will return with La Liga, NBA, Fifa, Peacock, WB and many more. Almost 70% of total sports viewership, Hollywood movies from all major studios, Bigg Boss all versions into a single app,Which ever it be Hotstar or Jio Cinema.

Bro wait. still no official announcement of buy out. Also that must pass through several boards to check legality.
Later merger with viacom18 announcement and then again pass through several boards like CCI, NCTL.

They are planning if deal moves through as intended to complete by Sep 2024

Hotstar is more stable than Jio Cinema. It's better if they merge everything to hotstar.
