Who can control duopoly in Telecom/4G/5G? TRAI or CCI?? soon duopoly in media, Disney Star-Viacom18 and Sony-Zee combines! 😀

Zee-Sony merger again seems to either be getting further delayed or if Sony decides to not go ahead bcoz of ongoing legal issues which Zee and its promoters are facing then we will have Disney-Star + Reliance emerge as further dominant player.

Also do not worry as regulatory bodies will surely as Disney-Star and Reliance to trim their channel line up so as to not completely have overpowering effect over competitors in this sector.

So Jio's competitor Airtel will lost Disney+hotstar OTT in combo packs to its broadband & mobile users after this merger as per above terms.

No. By competitors here they mean not have engagement with other rival players in OTT + TV Channels business..... Can u imagine all of content from these two companies being pulled out of all the various OTT or Telecom Companies which r too competitors of theirs.

Also bro why do u always single out Airtel, is it that u do not consider Vi as competitor of Jio or just somehow trying to highlight Airtel in negative light is the intention?

Yes except hindi, there is no place for them to reject. Also OTT will pose threat but there are no strong opposition for it as it is just half of no.1 player

Ha ha... you are still in dreams as Vi is competitor of Jio😀 I'm an Airtel customer since years, but not satisfied for its Xstream play app as Airtel is so lazy to integrate popular apps like Hotstar, Zee5, Sun NXT, still behind Jio fiber's OTT addon and TATA binge.

So going by ur logic if some company has lower market share than its rival then it should be ruled out as being its competitor so Sony TV is not competitor of rival network Hindi GEC flagship channels like Star Plus, Zee TV, Colors

Also just to inform u Vi might be overall having lower market share but in postpaid segment and even in Urban Areas it has extremely good customer base and still gives tough fight to behind Airtel, Jio.....even if we kept this fact aside still simply on legal & logical terms one cannot say that Vi is not a competitor of Jio or Airtel as they all operate in same sector offering similar services.

About u being a Airtel Subscriber and disliking certain aspects of Airtel Xstream OTT App offering, well u can opt for other OTT Aggregator App of ur choice....i have already discussed in detail about pricing, screen options and content offered on Airtel Xstream Play vs others so will not do the same again....At current price point i am extremely satisfied with what Apps / Content r offered under Airtel XStream Play Premium OTT subscription + additional Disney+Hotstar Super Plan subscription at just Rs. 50, also XStream Play Premium or Mobile Plan subscription complimentary or discounted rates with various Airtel Mobile, DTH, Fiber/Broadband and Airtel Black Plans thus further providing its customers value for money services.

Going forward Airtel shall definitely add more Apps onboard its Airtel XStream Play OTT platform and introduce different variants of subscription plans
