Divyanka Tripathi was recently in news for bagging the lead role in Cinevistaas’ upcoming show for Life OK. The show tentatively titled Laila Majnu is said to be a romantic comedy.

Though Divyanka was finalized more than two months back, she was kept on a wait and was not informed about her character for a long time. And now, as Tellychakkar.com had recently written, Divyanka is no longer part of the show. Producer Siddharth Malhotra had gone on record to say that ‘she has been dropped due to monetary issues.’

In a conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Divyanka Tripathi clarifies, “I am a committed actor. When I signed the show of Cinevistaas, I kept faith in them. However, after signing I was barely informed about the character, and was asked to wait for two months. I was not paid during the waiting period and the amount that was offered did not excite me. Also, there was no surety when the show would be on air.”

On producer Siddharth Malhotra saying that ‘Divyanka is dropped’, Divyanka clears the air stating, “I was not dropped from the show. I spoke about my concerns with the producer and when I realized that we were unable to come on the same grounds with respect to concerns specified above, it was mutually decided that I call it quits. I of course wanted Siddharth’s consent as he is the producer. I am professional enough not to walk out abruptly and courteously asked if I could be relieved, but unfortunately it has been framed as ‘dropped’. I was courteous enough to make them an offer that if and when required, I would be happy to render my services for the pilot shoot of the show without any artist fees, but till now they have not reverted on this.”

Moving ahead, Divyanka who broke her quiet bahu image (of Vidya in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann) to an outspoken comical house wife (Mrs Sharma in Mrs And Mr Sharma Allahabad Waale) to a girl next door (Chinki in Chintu Chinky Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story) to a corporate metro girl (Nikita in Teri Meri Love Stories) wants to break some more myths. “I can go to the highest of thresholds and cross all boundaries to achieve the character. I want to take up a role which is even more challenging. I want to do something that will connect me with my fans in India and abroad and if possible inspire people.”

Ask her about her dream role and she says, “I am dreaming something that I have never attempted before. A role of a maniac or a revolutionary or a down trodden villager will make me smile. I am dreaming of anything unseen and unthought of and waiting to see who taps and challenges my creativity to the fullest.”

Divyanka, your fans will be waiting for sure to see you again on the small screen.
