He is the source bro. He is in the sports right syndication business.

He is a MSO in Karnal. It is a communique to DTH and MSOs operators and not for the public.

Lex Sportel has nothing to do with Eurosport so obviously no mention. As confirmed in Delhi HC order and other sources Eurosport launch is planned for 14th February when deal with Lex Sportel will finish. However, there is a dispute on the DSport license currently. If they get license for Eurosport it should launch in time.

Press release says 1Sports.

Could you summarize the whole thing in post 1 in simple terms - WHO owns WHAT !

1Sports - Owned by xxx
DSport - Owned by xxx
EuroSport - Owned by xxx

Discovery has not made available their new RIO

That should be available before Jan 15 which is the deadline.

1Sports - Lex Sportel
Eurosport - Discovery
DSport - Downlink license owned by Discovery whereas Lex Sportel claims uplink license.

Lex claims Discovery made an agreement to downlink and distribute their channel as DSport in India.

Main bone of contention is Lex Sportel will lose its wide reach it had due to being in bouquets as DSport.

If so, the thread title is confusing/misleading.

I hope this all hullabaloo and buzz about Eurosport doesn't end up in a thud. Dsport began with a big buzz but down the 2019-20, it has become a third grade channel ever since the HD version got shut down.

Hopefully, prime events like Tour de France, MLS, etc. return in FHD.

So, in simple terms, the existing 'DSPORT' will continue to air everything as it is; under a new name '1SPORTS'. (Check their website)

And, Discovery will launch a new channel on 14th Feb 2019 and will either call it 'DSPORT' or 'EUROSPORT' or 'EUROSPORT INDIA' (hopefully will launch an HD channel too sometime later) and will air original programming and other licensed sporting events on it, which are currently not on the existing channel. Also, they may go for some cricket acquisitions for quicker growth.

The following are some of the licensed sporting properties which will continue on the rebranded 1SPORTS:
  • Hero I-League Football
  • Copa America Football
  • Coupe de France Football
  • MLS Cup Football
  • Dangal ke Soorma Wrestling
  • New Japan Pro Wrestling
  • Ring of Honor Wrestling
  • World of Sport Wrestling
  • Lucha Underground
  • Bellator MMA
  • Cage Warriors MMA
  • Nascar Racing
  • FIA World Rallycross Racing
  • Tour de France

It will be interesting to see what the new 'DSPORT' will have!
Why we need to pay for thease type of third grade sport items,1 sports must be a fta rather than paid.
Their is a huge space for fta sports channel in india.
