It will be certainly good for Tatasky. Many migrated to Tatasky after TRAI's new Tariff order?!
.....certainly good for Tatasky Subscribers. :ROFLMAO:

It s not easy to implementation. different satellite ..different location .inbuilt card pairing stb .different encryption mode .not easy.all dth providers stb s are their own property.its giving only rental.there is no sale happening.

The actual cost of the HD box/ DVR is 1/3 rd of what is being charged from the customer by the DTH operators. (One-time Rental?!)
Earlier no one would've thought of feasibility of "mobile number portability" with all its complexity. Everyone thought that "Jio" would not survive with their business model. Similarly the case with optic fiber network. The result is that even BSNL , the spectrum provider struggling for survival. We've benefited a lot from TRAI's intervention. Arrogant DTH players like TATAsky were made to learn a lesson or two for not honoring its customers.
(The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has ticked off direct-to-home service operator Tata Sky for not implementing ... Livemint).

True...with MNP it was easier from customer perspective as they need to change the sim only but with DTH it will be difficult because the software, card etc everything is different for different DTH provider.. however they could launch a new box with a universal software so that porting will be easier...

Yes without aligning to the required satellite how you will get the signals. There will be many issues to be addressed before it becomes reality.
