FX India launches FX Top Rated slot to air award winning international shows
FX India, owned and produced by Fox International Channels and distributed by Star TV, brings Top Rated weekends with the option of a new show every weekend for viewers and with the advent of the day and date shows on weekend prime time, the channel will offer content across genres. FX has announced to showcase shows like Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Prison Break, X Files and The Listener.

In May 2015, the channel promised to show 50 plus most popular new shows with a fresh, cutting edge look - #AllNewFx. In keeping with this, viewers will get to see shows across genres, with the likes of the longest running cult science fiction show Doctor Who, award winning psychological thrillers like Luther and Bosch, political dramas like Homeland and The Americans, musical hit dramas like Empire, romantic dramas like The Affair, comedies like Last Comic Standing, Louie, the latest season of Last Man of Earth and the seasons of shows like Walking Dead and the last season of Mad Men.
Starting Oct with FX Torrents, viewers will get to watch the latest episodes of high perception shows like Homeland Season 5, Affair Season 2, Empire Season 2 or a cult like Doctor Who Season 9 right after the international telecast.
The network is also introducing FX Top Rated –The IMDb of television, with acclaimed shows from across the world that have been loved by viewers and critics alike. The shows will stand true to the name of the slot – with awards, 7+ IMDb ratings and international viewer ratings by their side.
The channel has been focusing on content and programming so far but will now look at advertisements as well. The shows will be marketed heavily on the English channels of the Star Network that include Star Movies, Star Movies HD, Star Movies Action, Fox Traveller and National Geographic. The marketing will also be supported by a digital campaign.
A Star India official spokesperson said, “With the advent of the day and date shows on weekend prime time, we will complete the circle of variety and offer content across genres. We have specially designed a new look and packaging to ensure viewer recall. At FX, we focus on top quality content across categories. Within the macro categories itself too, FX is bringing variety ranging from popular to cult and new sensations too.”
