Discussion General Discussion on Current and Upcoming Kannada Channels in Karnataka

Star Suvarna lost 100+ points in just 2 weeks.. 16% down in viewership from last 2 weeks.

Reason:
1. Neenade Naa Season 2 failing to keep hold of the viewers as the language slang is Mangalore/Udupi style and story line is not much of family drama, people of other region of Karnataka slowly started migrating to other channels.
2. BBK impacted AMS and KKM
3. UURY and YSL are slowly loosing viewers in long term. Time slot for these devotional serials could have been kept to 9, 9.30 and 10pm as they won't loose viewership easily. But at current situation, it's not possible.

If Ninna Jothe Nanna Kathe able to get 3+ TVR, then new slots which can workout could be:
8pm - NJNK
8.30pm - New serial
9pm - YSL
9.30pm - UURY (by ending NN)
10pm - AMS ( once ended, YSL can be shifted here)

AMS is already affected before BBK started.. antarapata and brahmagantu had already made it fall down from 3+ to 2.2-2.3

After Sirikannada, I could see good potential to compete with Big Broadcasters from newly launched NKR TV Kannada..

Sirikannada was just a content creator with AllTime thirdparty broadcasting license. After Sirikannada stopped original content, lost hope on further growth. But NKRTV Kannada has its own Satellite license with best Picture Quality.

Even the channel telecasting many latest non popular Movies from all categories with best PQ & true colors.

Improvement areas:
1. Onboarding in all DTHs with Quality Serials
2. Introducing theme Graphics and reducing channel logo size a bit with animations.
3. Getting license for many old popular non repeated Movies with remastered print.
