the plan was 74 but now airtel[which was demand ku band] move to other so no exact location for this bird still. Might be 93.5 or 55

isro scheduled 2 communication sats before sep 2013. Gsat 7 and gsat 14. Gsat 7 is dedicated to navy with multi band TPs and its already signed with ariane space for the launch. Gsat14 is replacement for edusat at 74 deg. But gsat14 will use gslv which is indegenous vehichle still under testing.

So first ISRO must test its gslv first before scheduling any launch. Till then people here can launch whatever they wish.

Dino, the answer is that GSAT 11 will be place @ 74 degree east and it will have 36 C band 12 Ku band transponders. Again in 83 degree east Gsat 7 will be located in the mid of 2013 having only 4 Ku and 3 C band trp.

as no dth op is in or around +-5 degree in range of 74 degree so i guess no dth op would b benefitted by gsat 11. i guess isro will position it at a new location

Gsat 14 is for educational purpose it will replace EDUSAT
