GSAT 16 Launched Successfully

Unfortunately all of these are replacements...ISRO and government need to work on expanding the availability of Ku band for DTH lovers like us...HD channels keep on launching (and in fact less HD launches happen because of unavailability of career DTH) and we are deprived of them...who wants to watch bad quality SD channel on 16:9 HD and UHD TV?

Let's hope for the best...

India’s GSAT-16 launched successfully

BENGALURU: India's communication satellite, GSAT-16,
was successfully launched aboard the French Ariane-5 launch vehicle VA221, carrying 48 transponders, early on Sunday.

The spacecraft has been precisely placed into the intended
Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO), after a flight of 32
minutes and 20.4 seconds.

The Isro's Master Control Facility (MCF) at Hassan has started acquiring the signal from the satellite.

The satellite will be placed in the Geostationary Orbit by
