please note that there was no official confirmation from isro so far about the 48°E location. It was all rumours.

48°E is one of the 5 orbital locations allotted to isro (or India)

But SouthAsiaSat, being represented by a group of nations, will be located at a different longitude. Its no more an indian exclusive sat. So cant use 48°E.

ITU allotted orbital location for Gsat-9 / SouthAsiaSat is 97.29"° E

according to this - " Dhaka joins S Asia satellite " news Chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Shahjahan Mahmood and Indian high commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla signed the agreement titled 'Orbit Frequency Coordination of proposed at 48oE'.

So, even our Bangladeshi media friends were ill-informed about the project or they're intentionally kept in loop.
