Indian multiple system operator (MSO) Hathway Cable and Datacom has joined forces with SITI Digital, INCablenet, DigiCable and DEN to offer consumers digital cable services with superior picture and sound quality at discounted rates.
This initiative is in line with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s directive to achieve digitisation of cable TV by 31 October 2012 across Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata in the first phase.
K Jayaraman, MD & CEO of Hathway Cable and Datacom, said: “We are committed to ensuring timely implementation of the government mandate of digitisation of cable TV services and have therefore launched this service along with our MSO counterparts. We look to continue working towards mass digitisation of cable and collectively meet the 31 October deadline. We need to ensure cable digitalisation will benefit not just the broadcaster, but consumers as well with this new value for money service that provides more channels and enhanced viewing experiences.”
