Seeking to up its content play, MSO Hathway Cable & Datacom has launched four cable channels in the movie and music genres.
There are plans to launch more such channels across multiple genres.
The new channels are DJay, Lamhe, Home Theatre and Marathi Talkies.
They have been designed and packaged like satellite channels to give Hathway subscribers a good viewing experience. Two of the channels are in the music genre.
Targeted at Gen-X, DJAY-Music Redefined will play Bollywood tracks from the 2000 era.
Lamhe-Music Forever, on the other hand, will relive the golden era of the 50s to 80s. Home Theatre-Entertainment Recharged is a Hindi movie channel.
It will show movies across multiple genres, including action, romance and comedy. Marathi Talkies-Cinema Aapla will offer old and new Marathi movies.
While the other channels will be available to Hathway subscribers across the country, Marathi Talkies can be enjoyed only by audiences in Maharashtra.
The channels will be available on free-to-air (FTA) basis for now and will form part of Hathway’s BST and Prime packs. For starters, Hathway will tap advertising revenues.
