HD Access Fee South - Review

Friends,

I tried to review the Pros and Cons of HD access fee policy for south packages alone. I tried to review it for ROI packs as well. But I am unable to do it since I am missing some info. I will try to add it later.

Pros:
Benefit to the south pack customers who previously can subscribe to Sun HD channels only as ala-carte by paying Rs.187. Now they can subscribe to all these 4 channels by paying Rs.100 only. They are saving Rs.87.

Benefit to the South Silver Sports customers who can now get get both Sun HD and Sports HD channels at Rs.150 where they have to pay Rs.120 for sports HD alone and Rs.187 for Sun HD channels.

South Gold Sports is the best pack as of now where we are getting 20 HD channels for Rs.450 (300+150) including Sun HD channels. Missing here are 3 English Movies HD, 1 Star World HD, 1 Travel XP and 1 3D Active.



Cons:
It is a loss to the south customers who don't want Sun HD channels but other HD channels. They also cannot subscribe to other HD channels like Sports HD channels and English Movies HD channels.

Major loss to South Gold HD subscribers who now cannot get the same number of HD channels along with other SD channels of that pack with same or relative amount in any pack.

D2H played a smart game on New South Diamond and Platinum packs by not giving HD channels using HD access fee since they have to give all the HD channels (26) for Rs.150 whereas they were provided for Rs.169 under HD Globe pack.


Conclusion:
On the whole, it is a bad move.

Just during the time my dad was about to change to D2H this happened :s
We'v decided to be with ADTV It had no HD Access Fee hya
Suppose if ADTV also follow D2H ?? :skd

By The Way The Movie Library Of HBO Premium Channels Not Looking Healthy

As I'm Watching In Tata Sky HD It Won't Make Any Changes

HD Access fee policy in Tatasky was the main reason I switched my DTH to Videocon a year ago.
Now if Videocon is also coming up with HD access fee, it’s better to go back to Tatasky only..  I still have the Tatasky HD set top box

Videocond2h is entering into a wrong world i think.... its running out of money... because only they are increasing the price and removing channels from base pack....
