You can add free top ups in a la carte by calling the customer care. When i tried adding channels via sms it always added as a pay channel and i had call them and ask for refund. To avoid confusions, its always better to call them and add or remove channels in FTA pack. Hope it helps

Never add any channels in FTA pack through SMS or Online portal, otherwise you will be charged every month.

When you will call for CC to add any channel in FTA pack, tell him/her clearly that, your pack is FTA.
