a very easy but interesting question
lets see who can solve.....
A lady buys goods worth Rs. 200 from a shop (shopkeeper selling goods with zero profit) lady pays with a 1000 Rs note to the shopkeeper. He gets change from the next shop & keeps 200 for himself & returns 800 to the lady. After sometime the next shop owner returns the 1000 Rs. note saying it is fake & takes the money back. How much loss did the shopkeeper suffer?

Rs.2000 :k:k:k

Yes 2000.

200 for item
800 given to lady
1000 for next shopkeeper

The right answer is Rs.1000
Do practical
Find the profit/loss at each stage
you will get the right answer..

How 1000.

He acutally paid rs1800 in cash at end of day.

With nothing coming to his pocket.

+200 for item which he purchased from seller.

So rs2000

In my view 2000 is correct answer.

Ok,the question is tricky so think deeply...

The profit of one person always equals to the loss of other person.
here 3 persons are involved in transaction
person-1 the profit of neighborhood shopkeeper is 0
person-2 the profit of buyer is 1000
person-3 the loss of seller is 1000 (the profit of buyer is 1000 so obviously the loss of seller will be 1000)

Next method
the seller gets change from the next shop & keeps 200 for himself & returns 800 to the lady.
till this point is there any loss..?
surely not..! there is no loss yet.
now the neighborhood shopkeeper comes and says the note (of Rs. 1000) was fake..
so he has to give Rs 1000 to him than how the loss can be Rs.2000...?
(Actually the 800 given to customer was not from the pocket of seller..)
