trilogic digital media and itv news network announce launch ‘insight’
Trilogic Digital Media Limited (TDML), at exchange4media Conclave last night, announced its collaboration with iTV Network. The strategic alliance will see iTV parking its non-news channels with Trilogic and will see the launch of a multi genre entertainment broadcasting network. The first offering from this stable is ‘Insight’, which is positioned as the world’s first 4k channel
Trilogic Digital Media Limited (TDML), at exchange4media Conclave last night, announced its collaboration with iTV Network. The strategic alliance will see iTV parking its non-news channels with Trilogic and will see the launch of a multi genre entertainment broadcasting network. The first offering from this stable is ‘Insight’, which is positioned as the world’s first 4k channel.
‘Insight’ is a global factual entertainment channel and is the first UHD channel from TV Entertainment Reality Network (TERN), based in The Netherlands. Aimed at the millennial audience, the channel will showcase completely original programming in the form of innovative documentaries, accessible reality series and cutting-edge factual infotainment.
Vishal Gurnani, Managing Director of TDML stated, “We look forward to working closely with ITV and to jointly create India’s fastest growing entertainment broadcast network. We shall be launching 4 channels over the next 12 months which include PHULWAA - India’s first Bhojpuri GEC, a soon to be announced interactive Travel Channel and many other varied entertainment channels.”
He further said that some time earlier if you said that digitization with be a reality and that HD would be the key growth driver in the broadcast industry people would laugh. But he said that this has now become a reality and many broadcasters are earning much of their revenues through HD channels. So similarly people thought the same about a 4K channel. He said that they believe that audiences chase the market, audiences do not change technology. Further he said that people are ready to open their purse strings and are ready for 4K content.
Commenting on the announcement, Kartikeya Sharma, Chairman and MD, ITV Network said, “We are excited about joining hands with Trilogic Digital Media Limited (TDML). Together the combined forces of ITV & TDML shall usher in a new era of entertainment broadcasting in India. We are proud to launch ‘INSIGHT’ in India to provide our audience with an experience of the next generation television viewing.”
Over the last 5 years, TDML has evolved from being a company of IPR management to producing rich content for entertainment channels and Bollywood movies and has moved up the value chain to broadcasting since 2013. Today, TDML has broadcasting rights for three channels including FTV, Sahara One and Filmy.
