On the distribution front, the company is in talks with leading regional as well as national multi-system operators (MSOs) besides direct to home (DTH) operators to get optimally distributed.
“We will try to close deals with all cable TV platforms but being available on all DTH platforms is not possible. We are also looking at presence in major cities where there is Malayali population. We hope to be on one or two DTH platforms,” Pillai said.
[Besides India, the company plans to launch the channel in US on IPTV.
Expansion with more channel launches
Once Janam TV gets established, the company plans to expand the bouquet with another Malayalam channel besides similar channels in other South India languages.
“We are concentrating on this channel. Once this is on track we may have one more channel in Malayalam and similar channels in other South Indian languages,” he disclosed.
