It's actually the opposite. You have the older version APK where you can login with Jio ID/number, whereas @Appu guru has the early access latest version that requires JioFiber linked number to access the app.

Jio TV + app login not for other networks in India, Airtel, vi, bsnl

Jio network only possible to login

Hotstar live channels play only on Jio network.
You can login with Jio fiber/airfiber ID, connect STB to Jio 5G phone hotspot and also access everything.
Jio airfiber STB also works with Jio 5G hotspot
