Junior NTR is the son of N. Harikrishna, the eldest son of late N.T. Rama Rao, film thespian and the founder of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Pranathi is the daughter of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu's niece Narne Mallika.
Naidu, son-in-law of NTR, is related to the families of both the bride and the bridegroom.
