Discussion Marvel HQ is launching on 20th January replacing Disney XD

It’s been announced that the Disney XD channel will no longer broadcast in Australia and New Zealand. This will take effect from January 6th 2019 and will be removed from the Kids Tier on Foxtel from Telstra services.

However Disney are migrating many shows from Disney XD over onto the main Disney Channel.

Not only Disney XD Australia, but also Disney XD Asia and India are facing the similar situation. There is a chance that they may discontinue this channel in 2019. Because as for Indian feed, some of the latest seasons of Marvel shows have not aired yet on Disney XD, like Spider Man S2, Avengers, Star Wars Rebels, Black Panther etc and some shows are moved to Disney Channel.

Disney XD is performing fairly well in India. None of the marvel shows have moved to Disney Channel here as being suggested. I think they may revamp content but closure won't happen. This channel caters to action cartoon shows and has a sizeable audience base, guess its on 6th or 7th number on TRP Chart in kids genre, above Sony Yay, Disney Junior, Nick Junior etc. Let's wait, 2019 will see lot of changes in various genres where Star-Disney has presence, international decisions don't have much impact here.

I hope they merge Disney International HD and Star World into one channel and exclusively air family friendly content as English channels in India have bad reputation among parents for being vulgar. Back in 90s there were b**** on Star Movies. Rest of the shows can go to Star World Premier HD.
