Discussion Marvel HQ is launching on 20th January replacing Disney XD

Disney Broadcasting India is launching a new channel Marvel HQ on 20 January.

The new channel will replace action-adventure channel Disney XD, which will cease to exist. Marvel HQ has an MRP of Rs 4 and the genre of the channel is kids. In order to reach a wider base, the channel will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Old Wine in New Bottle, same strategy tried by some other channels too in the past but it failed. All the shows mentioned in article are already being shown on Disney XD and not achieving high success with audience. Do not understand what turnaround they r anticipating by just name makeover. Futile and half hearted attempt, no homework done it seems

If Marvel HQ is going to be an HD channel , then it's going to be a very good news.

Atleast it will be better than Nick HD+, where Motu Patlu (A sub-par programme compared to 90's cartoon shows) is shown in HD.

Marvel content deserves HD support.

Nick HD has stopped showing local popular shows since a long time, now they r airing old episodes of some intentional shows on this channel and by the looks of it they will shortly draw curtains on it. They will use its licence for some new channel.

There are conflicting reports about the new channel launching in SD or HD format.

Some sites are vague in it while the link posted in Post No. 73 mentions the new channel to be an HD channel whereas the link in post no. 71 remains silent about it.

HD would be for International Feeds, these news portals might have got confused. Marvel HQ is a global rollout on same day and in India it will just be available as a SD channel

Viacom is not Sony or Turner to shut down premium HD channels! Nick HD+ isn't going anywhere.
