Master saw a big drop in its second week in circuits outside Tamil Nadu but the home circuit has held up pretty well in the second week. The film has grossed around 97 crore nett in its first two weeks in Tamil Nadu and will cross the 100 crore nett mark soon enough. This has not been done by many films in Tamil Nadu so far.
Basically even with the Covid scenario if this film was allowed 100% occupancy in Tamil Nadu then it would have become the highest Tamil grossing film in Tamil Nadu and maybe even beat the numbers of Bahubali - The Conclusion. Still many theatres allowed 100% occupancy despite the rules and thats why the film has managed to get these phenomenal figures in Tamil Nadu despite the present scenario
The NETT collections do not give the correct picture in Tamil Nadu as it was tax free for almost a decade and then GST came in. The GROSS numbers of Master in Tamil Nadu are 113 crore in two weeks which puts it in seventh place. The final numbers look like going to 120 crore plus and to the range of Sarkar and Mersal which are among the biggest grossers of actor Vijay. It could even get to 125 crore which would mean his second highest grosser.
The top grosser in Tamil Nadu remains Bahubali - The Conclusion with 155 crore GROSS and the top Tamil films are Bigil, Viswasam and 2.0 with Viswasam being the biggest BLOCKBUSTER in the state since Endhiran in 2010. Below are the top ten grossing Tamil films in Tamil Nadu.
