Breaking MIB approves 2 new licences in December

LSVPL has raised objections to DCI's application for the renaming of license referring to the policy of Downlinking Policy of MIB. MIB is investigating the issue and till now has taken no decision.

LSVPL, on the other hand, has applied to get a downlinking license named 'DSport' in its own name. It will air under '1Sports' name and then plans to switch back to DSport name once it gets the license from MIB.

Don’t think it will get the DSport name as that license was applied for and held in the name of Discovery Communications.

Not like before they publishing in PDF now they have Broadcast Seva website for MiB permitted channels .Last they updated was on Dec 19.
918 channels were have got license .
Broadcast seva portal back to active, no changes found in channels count. Last updated as on 31-01-2020.

So as of 918 channels 288 licenses cancelled which means 730 active licenses.

Does anyone have an idea out of those 730 active licenses how many channels have been launched and are in operation?

No all 918 channels have Active license. 288 cancelled ones are not included in it :ok2:

Ok. Any idea how many have been operationalized?

Also there is another thread which stated 45 channel licenses are pending as of last quarter. Any idea how to check pending licenses on broadcastseva website. I checked Star Sports HD3 is yet to get permission till January end.

Don't think there is any stat from MIB on the number of operationalized channels. Pending licenses are only published by MIB if and when an MP asks the Ministry in the house. Q&A in Parliament session has started so incase someone asks pending TV license list you might get to know. BroadcastSeva list remains un-updated with Dec-Jan changes.

So the only way out to find how many licensed channels are operational is to do it manually?
