The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has warned three television channels for violating the content code.
This action follows the opinion of an Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) which pointed out that the channels did not follow broadcasting norms. The IMC was appointed by the MIB to look into the matter.
A television channel was issued a warning after it showed disturbing visuals of incidents of suicide in Kerala without adequately morphing them. The order was dated 29 November.
Another channel did not adequately blur the visuals of a murder victim lying in a pool of blood. The MIB was issued a warning in an order dated 29 November, PTI reported.
Another channel failed to conform to broadcasting norms when it revealed the identity of a victim of sexual abuse.
