MPEG4 DVB-S2 Satellite Receivers are expected to be sold cheaper soon boosted by the recent surge in the number of MPEG4 DVB-S2 channels on various satellites.
After the migration of many Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi free channels to Intelsat 17 at 66.0°E from Insat 2E at 83.0°E, the new standard that majority of these channels have adopted is MPEG4 DVB-S2 with QPSK or 8PSK modulation (except some like Kalaignar network or Darshana TV).
There is an ever increasing demand from customers and dealers are in talks with manufacturers/suppliers for getting them in bulk quantities.
