MS Dhoni: The Untold Story collected Rs 41.9 crore in two days in India.
According to a statement, issued on behalf of the makers of the Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer,
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story collected Rs 20.6 crore on Saturday taking the two-day collection to Rs 41.9 crore.
The biopic on Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has also been made tax-free in Uttar Pradesh.
Produced by Fox Star Studios and Arun Pandey of Inspired Entertainment, the film also features Kiara Advani, Disha Patani and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
"We thank India for this overwhelming love for the biopic on Mahendra Singh Dhoni's life. He is the son of the soil and it's absolutely amazing to see that we have lived up to the expectations of the cricket fans, his fans and the movie going audience," Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox star studios, said in a statement.
Arun, producer and chairman of Inspired Entertainment, has thanked the country for supporting the film.
"We can only say 'Thank You, India'. We have tried to do justice to your love for Mahi," Arun added.

M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story opening weekend collection: Sushant’s film earns Rs 7 crore at the Tamil Nadu box office!
Well, MS Dhoni ‘s biopic starring Sushant Singh Rajput is performing splendidly! While the original version had a thunderous start, It’s the Tamil version that is shocking everyone! It is now official that the 3 days collection has grossed Rs 7 crore. While the Hindi version occupied 27 screens, the Tamil version occupied 205 screens! Well, the movie is doing phenomenally down South. It has received the kind of opening, a big hero Tamil film actually gets! What’s more, it’s no 1 at the Chennai Box office beating Vijay Sethupathi’s Aandavan Kattali and Dhanush’s Thodari even between September 30- October 2!
On the first day itself, it collected Rs 1.85 crore, only to add Rs 2.10 crore on Day 2, thus making a total of Rs 3.95 crore! And now the total has reached a grand Rs 7 crore! The movie is hitting sixes left, right and centre! Looks like the cricketer is not just a star on the field, but is bigger one off it! The movie overall has collected Rs 66 crore in three days its journey to the 100 crore is already half done! It won’t be long before it joins the 100 crore club. It started off with a whopping Rs 21. 30 crore, it has been one of the second highest openings of 2016.

What was awesome about this biopic was the huge buzz around the original and equal excitement around the Tamil and Telugu version, Looks like cricket fans stand united united dissolving all language barriers. If it’s movie of one of the most well known cricketers, any fan will be game to watch it in any version.Even in Bangalore, the movie had a grand opening as it occupied 75-80 screens. Considering a Salman Movie usually has a screen out of 100-110, this count has been huge for this kind of movie.
As the title goes, the movie talks about the life of Mahendra Singh Dhoni right form his childhood to him becoming the start cricketer. The movie also stars Disha Patani and Kiara Advani among others. The biopic has been directed by Neeraj Pandey.

MS Dhoni : The Untold Story starring Sushant Singh Rajput has collected Rs 66 crores in its opening weekend. The film, which collected Rs 24.10 crores on Sunday might just become one of the highest grosser of 2016. Unlike other hit movies this year, MS Dhoni The Untold Story features just three film old actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared, “#MSDhoniTheUntoldStory is SENSATIONAL… Packs a SOLID total… Fri 21.30 cr, Sat 20.60 cr, Sun 24.10 cr. Total: ₹ 66 cr. India biz.”
Meanwhile, Rishi Kapoor has praised the biopic and said the film’s lead actor Sushant Singh Rajput has done a good job. M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story is a film tracing the life of India’s best-known cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sushant plays the title role in the film, directed by Neeraj Pandey.
“Saw film Dhoni. Sushant was totally Dhoni! All characters did well. And the two new girls are sure stars in the making. Director… splendid job,” Rishi tweeted on Sunday morning.

I thought the movie was 3 hours. I think they need to release a DLC version with him winning multiple IPL trophies until the infamous run out from ICC WC 2019.So ipl csk matches trp gave makers an idea so now msd fans no need to see him for 3 balls they can catch him for 2+ hrs
