I don't think sun direct don't have popular channels. The Tamil channel count in sun direct is almost similar with other DTH.

A) Total Price of Malayalam DPO 2 = 199 (Before Tax)
B) Pay Channels' Price in Malayalam DPO 2 = 135.10 (Before Tax)

NCF Price for Malayalam DPO 2 (for all FTA Channels, which I assume Sun has more than 100 in number)
= A minus B = 199 - 135.10 = Rs. 63.90 (Before Tax)

So, effectively, for Malayalam DPO 2, we are getting NCF for Rs.63.90 (Before Tax).

Original NCF Price is Rs. 130 (Before Tax)

Amount saved in NCF price if one opt's Sun Direct's Malayalam DPO 2:
130 - 63.90 = 66.10 (Before Tax)

Does that make sense?

yea. almost. apart from these bouquets they may have few more pay channels.

Guys i just made a comparison of bouquets sun has added in malayalam DPO 2.
Malayalam DPO 2 pack = 199+ channels + 18% Tax So around 235rs per month.
The pack includes the following bouquets.

1. India Cast Kerala Bouquets - 8/- pm = 10 channels.
2. Turner family Bouquets - 10/- pm = 5 channels.
3. Times Bouquets - 13/- pm = 7 Channels.
4. Star Malayalam Value Pack - 39/- pm = 9 Channels.
5. Sun Ultimate SD bouquets - 65/- pm = 25 channels.
6. Zee Keralam - 0.10/- paisa per month.

And Rest is FTA i think.

Total Bouquets Prices = 135/- per month + GST.

so total pay channels = 107

pack cost is 168.64 - 107 = 61.

So sun is collecting ncf as around 60rs or other words if you ignore sun ultimate 65 and cinema club(10) ncf is coming around 130

Yea it makes some sort of sense when i view in this angle.

Well, we have to do our best with what we have. They don't have more than a few channels that are part of many broadcaster bouquets. To make up for that, I guess, they are covering up by providing purse friendly DPO packs. But then, they have been unable to (or doesn't want to) include a few channels (like say, our fan favorite, Jaya group) even in said DPO packs. So, I guess, they too are trying to do their best with what they have (at least for now).

Let us just hope that the current situation is really only for now, and that things change in the near future. Because, you know, some of us aren't changing (again, or don't want to change) our DTH provider no matter how much hardship Sun Direct subjects us to. Some of us (like me) are married to life. No divorce (hopefully)!

It was available before a year later they removed stating due to capacity issue channel is removed
